Beyond 21 is thrilled to announce that The Harry E. Foster Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to support its Empowerment Through Engagement program, which provides vital tools and experiences for adults with developmental disabilities.
The funding will directly impact participants by:
- Enhancing communication independence – Acquiring iPads, some equipped with Proloquo2Go, a speech-generating app for non-verbal participants.
- Promoting social integration – Supporting transportation and access fees for community outings like bowling and swimming.
- Boosting cognitive skills – Providing a Kahoot! Pro membership for engaging learning activities.
- Encouraging creativity & social interaction – Purchasing a DSLR camera to improve the participant newsletter and foster photography skills.
Beyond 21’s Empowerment Through Engagement initiative aligns with the organization’s mission to provide life-enriching programs that foster independence, confidence, and social connection. As a non-profit, Beyond 21 relies on fundraising and grants to keep its programs financially accessible to over 60 families in the Cornwall area.
“We are incredibly grateful to The Harry E. Foster Foundation for their generosity. This funding will make a tangible difference in the lives of our participants, giving them the tools and opportunities to grow, express themselves, and engage with the world around them.” said Amy Malyon, Executive Director of Beyond 21.
