The Race

Celebrating its 43rd year, the Great Raisin River Footrace is a Williamstown classic and wonderful pairing with a weekend at the fair! Join us for 5K or 11K on an out-and-back run along scenic back country roads winding with the Raisin River. We will also be hosting the traditional 150-metre “Kids Fun Run” for those 10 years and under (no registration required).

All profits from the event will go directly to support adults with developmental disabilities living in the SD&G area attending the Beyond 21 program. Our fundraising goal for the event is to raise $5,000 for Beyond 21 β€” and with your support, we know we can get there!

FAQ

What is Beyond 21?

Beyond 21 offers a day program for adults with developmental disabilities to identify their dreams and empower them to learn the skills and build the connections they need to achieve them. We provide a wide range of program areas that enrich social relationships, foster physical health, encourage curiosity and hands-on learning opportunities, and promote self-confidence.

What does my registration fee support?

After all the event costs are covered, your registration fee will go directly to support adults with developmental disabilities attending Beyond 21’s day program. Donor support helps cover things like groceries, art supplies, learning tools and so much more!Β

I am not a runner, can I still participate?

Absolutely! The race is very inclusive for runners of all levels. We do ask that if you are walking please stick to the 5K race.

What is the “Kid’s Fun Run”?

The “Kid’s Fun Run” is a 150-metre, non-competitive run for kids 10 and under who are not participating in the 5K or 11K. Ribbons and treats will be given out to all participants at the end. There is no need for pre-registration for this run.

Can I register on the day of the race?

You certainly can, though we ask you to kindly pre-register if possible. This makes race day much smoother and there is a limit 50 people we can register on the morning-of. You will also benefit from $10 in registration savings!

What if it rains?

Rain or shine, the race is on! It will only be cancelled if the weather is deemed unsafe for its participants. Please prepare accordingly with sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and whatever else you may need!
