Celebrating 45 years!

The Race

Celebrate 45 years of the beloved Williamstown tradition at the highly anticipated Great Raisin River Footrace! We couldn’t be happier to mark this milestone once again at the picturesque Williamstown Fairgrounds. Lace up your sneakers and embark on an unforgettable journey with our out-and-back 5K or 11K loop along backcountry roads that embrace the scenic beauty of the Raisin River.

As we revel in four and a half decades of this event, we invite you to join the festivities and make this year’s Footrace truly special. And for the little ones, the excitement continues with our “Kids Fun Run” – a thrilling 150-meter dash that promises fun (no pre-registration required for Kids Run; check our FAQs for more details).

All profits from the event will go directly to support adults with developmental disabilities living in the SD&G area attending the Beyond 21 program.

FAQs

What is Beyond 21?

Beyond 21 is a non-profit organization in Cornwall, Ontario, that offers a heavily-subsidized day program for adults with developmental disabilities. We provide a wide range of program areas that enrich social relationships, foster physical health, create hands-on learning opportunities and promote self-confidence.

What is the “Kid’s Fun Run”?

This non-competitive 150-meter run is open to all children 10 years and under who are not participating in the 5K or 11K. While there’s no need to pre-register for the Kid’s Fun Run, please know that children and their parents or guardians will need to purchase their own Fair admission should they wish to use the facilities within the Fairgrounds. We hope to see you and your little ones there for some fun and exciting memories!

I already have a weekend pass to the Fair, can I get a discount on my registration for the race?

While we are unable to offer discounts for runners who have already purchased a weekend pass to the Fair, you are welcome to gift your Fair bracelet to a friend or family member who can use it to access the Fairgrounds and share in the festivities of the day!

Will my friends, family, or onlookers be able to access the Fairgrounds during the race?

We understand how important it is for your loved ones to be a part of your race day experience! If your friends, family, or onlookers wish to join you in the festivities or watch you cross the start/finish line, they will need to purchase their own passes to enter the Fairgrounds. Please note that only registered runners have entry to the Fairgrounds included in their registration fees. Alternatively, your supporters are more than welcome to cheer you on from outside the Fairgrounds along the race route.

I am not a runner, can I still participate?

Absolutely! The race is inclusive for runners of all levels. We do ask that if you are walking please stick to the 5K race.

Can I register on the day of the race?

You certainly can, though we ask you to kindly pre-register online, if possible. This makes race day much smoother and there is a limit 15 people we can register on the morning-of. You will also benefit from registration savings by pre-registering.

What if it rains?

Rain or shine, the race is on! It will only be cancelled if the weather is deemed unsafe. Please prepare accordingly with sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and whatever else you may need!

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, though the parents/ drivers of the strollers accept all responsibilities and liabilities on the course! Parents will have to pay full Fair admission fees for their child in the stroller in order to include them in the run.
